My name is Laura Losacco, owner of Tee's 2.0 Bait Mkt in Crystal River. My friend Missy King was involved in an accident on December 28th, 2025, that has left her in serious condition. While riding her beloved horse Remy on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the horse was spooked by a large bear that happened along the riding path, causing the horse to pop and spin, throwing her midair into the nearby brush. Thankfully, there happened to be medics on the trail as a local horse run was happening. Her daughter Kayla came to the scene immediately and, with the help of the medics, got her into the Jeep and drove to the closest emergency center in Crystal River. The team did the best they could to stabilize her pain, but the facility is not equipped for the trauma she endured, so an ambulance then transported her to Ocala Regional Medical Center where she has been taken well care of.

Missy is well known and loved by so many in our community as well as the surrounding ones. As a business owner and hair stylist in Dunnellon, Florida, for close to 30 years, the hearts and people she has touched are innumerable. The fishing community also welcomes her with open arms as she has hosted the Hookin' For Habitat Tournament for the past decade, raising tens of thousands of dollars and awareness for an amazing organization and cause. Always a friend to everyone and a helper in God's family, we are blessed to know her.

Now she needs our help. The cost of the hospital stay is still growing, and there's no doubt she will be unable to work for a minimum of 2 months with the injuries she has sustained: 8 fractured ribs, a contusion to the lower right lung, and a fractured clavicle.
