Goal $15,000
Please support the Missoula Robotics Team’s 2025/26 Season!
The Missoula Robotics Team is comprised of three FIRSTⓇ (For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology) teams. Two of our teams are FTC (FIRSTⓇ Tech Challenge) and one is the longest running and competing FRC (FIRSTⓇ Robotics Competition) team in Montana. Unlike many other FIRST teams and other extracurricular activities, participation on our team does not cost students or their families anything - keeping STEM education accessible to all. We bring together about 50 high school students from across Missoula County and are guided by a dedicated group of about 10 adult coaches and mentors. Students explore and develop through a myriad of hands-on experiences and skills in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), while building robots for competitions, blending the excitement of sports with STEM education.
Your contribution will help us reach our financial goal, which means we are empowering young STEM leaders for Montana’s future. This year’s budget will require $60,000, and this campaign is just a part of our team’s process in reaching that goal. We also have community partnerships with sponsors and businesses, and if you want to donate and become a partner, please contact us directly to discuss how we recognize our sponsors who contribute more than $500.
Here is where the $60,000 will go
$10,000 Registration for competitions for all three teams
$15,000 Parts for robots and tools for the shop
$5,000 Outreach, promotion and miscellaneous
$30,000 Travel to competition
Your support allows us to continue our work as an academic varsity sport that develops students’ real-world engineering and STEM skills, which is exciting for them and rewarding to our coaches and mentors. While we develop community minded young leaders who learn far beyond what the classroom can teach, such as important critical thinking and problem solving skills, teamwork, and time management and organization skills to meet deadlines, we have a good time, just like any other competitive team. Our members also support other robotics programs by mentoring at elementary and middle schools, and they volunteer time at the Missoula Food Bank and with other local organizations.
Our final thought is a quote fromDean Kamen, a founder of FIRSTⓇ, “We don’t use kids to build robots; we use robots to build kids.”
Please contact us directly for donations greater than $500 or if you would like to know more about what we are doing for the future. Our contact information is here and the tax deductible information is below.
