Making Stars
We’re organizing a free, all-ages street music festival in San Francisco’s Mission District, Step 27th , focused on uplifting youth through music, mentorship, and cultural celebration.
Leading the charge is legendary Richard Segovia—the “Mayor of the Mission” who has spent decades mentoring young artists and building community through the House of Latin Rock ( https://goldengatexpress.org/112450/multimedia/gator-talk-the-mayor-of-the-mission-on-keeping-latin-rock-alive/ ).
Headlining the event is the legendary Richard Bean’s Malo Band, joined by local favorites Agua Pura and Los Jefes, plus rising talent from the Mission District and students from San Francisco School of the Arts.
We’re raising $3,000 to cover:
• City permits
• Stage and sound
• Generator
• Portable bathrooms
• Food and water for volunteer performers
Everything else—the talent, the time, and the energy—is being donated by the artists and organizers.
The event will be Hosted at the The House of Latin Rock (25th & York). We are also celebrating Richard’s 72th Birthday And everybody is invited.
(If anybody has any questions or would like to get involved please contact Richard via Facebook)
