Hi! My name is Victoria Ramos, but many of you know me as Miss Tori or Coach Tori. On January 23,2026 I was admitted into the ER for acute pancreatitis. Unfortunately it escalated into Necrotizing Pancreatitis, which landed me in the hospital for over a month and a half. Necrotizing Pancreatitis is a severe complication of acute pancreatitis where tissue in or around the pancreas dies (necrosis) due to severe inflammation or lack of blood flow. The episode of necrotizing pancreatitis resulted in me losing 30% of my pancreas due to necrotic tissue. I had to be fed via picc line for 21 days. A picc line is a tube IV they place directly into your brachial vein.

Throughout my hospital stays I saw numerous doctors and nurses, and finally ended up being transferred from Resurrection Medical Center to Northwestern to receive 3 pancreatic necrosectomies. A pancreatic necrosectomy is a specialized, often minimally invasive, surgical or endoscopic procedure used to remove dead (necrotic) tissue from the pancreas. As of the launch of this GoFundMe, I currently have one more procedure that will be scheduled for a time in mid to late April.

Due to my unforseen lengthy hospital stays, I am struggling financially. My goal is to raise 15,000 dollars to help cover my medical bills. Unfortunately, even with the financial assistance programs offered by both hospitals, I cannot afford these payments on my own.
