As many of you know, Miss Shannon’s husband Clark was just given a new lease on life this week through a liver & kidney transplant. Miss Shannon will be spending the next few weeks in Indianapolis as he recovers & heals.
For those of you who know Shannon, this momentous event has been anticipated for years. Shannon has been Clark’s primary caretaker, best friend, and biggest advocate during this difficult time. This woman is seriously a super hero! Every day cares for & loves the babies in the Duck Pond Room at the Purina CDC (who adore her!). And when the day is over at the CDC she goes home to her other full-time job – doing everything within her power to help Clark navigate the challenges he has had to face. Shannon spends all day every day giving of herself.
The day that Shannon & Clark have been hoping & praying for has finally come. But with the amazing gift of an organ transplant come a whole host of other challenges. Huge medical bills for a start. Many of you have experienced first-hand Miss Shannon’s dedication to our children. Let’s take this opportunity to give back to the woman who gives so much of herself to the tiniest pupils at the CDC.
We have determined that the best way to help Shannon will be to ease the financial burden that her family is facing. We will be collecting money over the next couple of weeks to help Shannon & her family.
