My name is Staceyann Johnson. My adopted Jamaican mother Linda Robinson (aka Miss Moonie) has run Moonrise Villa's a small intimate guest house in the heart of Negril ,Jamaica for the 40 years. I have spent many vacations here, the villa is not just a business, its a heritage , the foundation of her family's livelihood and a cherished home where countless guests have created lifelong memories. Sadly the devastation by Hurricane Melissa has left her beloved villa severely damaged, threatening her ability to sustain her family.

When Melissa struck the coastline, the impact was catastrophic. The storm ripped a significant portion of the roof , leading to extensive flooding throughout. The strong winds soaked and damaged guestrooms, furniture and personal belongings. The very structure that has sheltered her family and guest for over 40 years is now vulnerable and partially unusable.

Without immediate repairs, she cannot re-open her doors to guest and or stay in her home. She have tried to manage the initial cleanup, but the cost of the repairs is far beyond her means. Miss Moonie is a lady that believes in hard work and resilience and this is the first time in 40 years that she has reached out for help. She is seeking to raise $20,000 to cover the essential repairs. Your contribution, no matter how small, will help her rebuild her family home and business and keep the spirit of Moonrise Villa alive in Negril.
