My name is Missy Watts, I am reaching out to our community and friends on behalf of one of our sweetest clients Miss Laura.

Miss Laura is disabled, on SSDI, and lives on her mom and dad’s property in Carriere, MS. She urgently needs a new place to live.

A tree fell on her camper in 2021 after a storm. The hole in the roof has been covered by a blue tarp ever since. Air condition won’t stay inside during the summers. Heat won’t stay inside during the winters. This week, rats have destroyed the pipes under the camper. Today, rats are destroying the remainder of the roof.

A Christmas Miracle is what we are hoping for.

Her cousin gave her an aged trailer (mobile home) that is currently on the property but is not livable until much needed repairs are done.

After visiting her today, and talks with Rachel Champagne, we came to the conclusion to use donation money for the following repairs to the trailer: Septic/sewerage and electrician work and materials with hookups to parents connections. Isolated floor repairs, insulating underneath the trailer and a roof inspection with probable repairs. (because what is up there now is only a rubber membrane)

I have never taken on this big of a project. I know I’m being called to help her, and as worried as I am about getting in too deep here, I’m going to do the best I can and get started with lining up people to start the work.
