Any help getting this sweetheart to her forever home up North will be greatly appreciated.

long story short:

She was abandoned on an Airbnb property. No one was taking care of her, but Airbnb guests would feed her randomly. She had a severe flea infestation and heartworm. I am working with a rescue down in PR (Save a friend Rescue) to help get her up here to her forever home.

Long story long:

Lady came up to me when I arrived at my Airbnb in PR. She was visibly thirsty and in distress. When I reached out to the host about her, he said that she was dumped there a few months prior. I started tagging rescues in the area in hopes of finding some help, and Marla from Save a Friend PR rescue came through! She recommended a vet which I was able to take her to before catching my flight home. At the vet, we found out she recently had puppies, but the puppies were nowhere to be found near the Airbnb. She most likely was bred and then abandoned. Heartbreaking. We also found out she is only two years old! She tested positive for heart warm and had a severe flea infestation on her tail. She is severely overweight from eating Airbnb guest leftovers and she will need to be spayed. Marla did a great job finding her a last minute foster in PR who she is with until she can be spayed and then transported to the mainland of the States. Marla and her team are doing all of the coordinating, but it is up to me to cover the costs as she is already swamped with other rescue efforts! The vet bills cost $355 so far, and with spaying and transportation, the total cost of rescuing her will be around $1,555.
