Dr. Floretta Cuffey Terry’s home burned down from an electrical fire on the evening of October 28, 2025, losing all of her personal belongings and the home she has lived in since her childhood. Miss Flo is one of the most kind, generous, and humble fixtures of the Carver Langston Washington, DC neighborhood and is raising her beautiful, active, and smart 9-year-old granddaughter, Miracle. Miss Flo is a retired dentist and a proud Soror of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Thankfully, both are physically safe after the fire.
Please contribute anything you can — Miss Flo and Miracle are deserving of all the support we can muster. Funds will assist in replacing everything in their home, temporary housing, and the cost of rebuilding. Sadly, everything will be out of pocket for Miss Flo and her family. If you are able, please donate toward helping them rebuild. I know there is endless need in the world these days and far too many worthy causes. But nothing is too small, $5 or $10, goes a long way in multiples.
If you have toys or gently used clothing for Miracle, please contact Michaela Kurinsky-Malos to arrange pick up. The organizer is Miss Flo’s next door neighbor.
