❤️ EMERGENCY❤️
Please read latest update. We are simply running out of time. We have 10 days to bring our total raised up to $37,000.
We are at $19,900 now. I know it’s a lot. I wish you could see how much we have done and how close we are. It’s just daunting now because I’m literally at the end of my resources and they are going to take our home.
❤️ Please help us. ❤️ We are so close — but we desperately need help to save our home. We are almost at the point of stability, but afraid we will lose our home just before we make it.
Key Facts:
- ❤️ I’m a single disabled mom of 3 amazing girls (ages 4, 10, and 15), and we’ve lived here since 2012.
- ❤️ After a roofing disaster / bad contractor, caused a cascade of damage to our house, we were displaced from the main house for over 2 years. (and I would try for legal recovery, but I have no idea where to even begin)
- ❤️ We just moved back in — which means we’re almost back on our feet.
- ❤️ During that time, we lost Airbnb income (which helped pay the mortgage) because we had to live in the tiny house we rent.
- ❤️ I’m disabled and currently appealing my SSDI application. When approved, it will come with backpay, but it won’t arrive in time to stop foreclosure.
- ❤️ The bank is pressuring hard. If we don’t catch up soon, we could lose the house just as things are stabilizing. We are SO close.
We’re trying to raise $45,000 to:
- Catch up on mortgage payments
- Cover final repairs - reset Airbnb - so close, just need the permit and finishing resetting it
- Stay afloat (bills, food) until SSDI or Airbnb income resumes
❤️This is a short-term ask to protect a long-term plan. ❤️We are SO SO close to making it all work.❤️
Now that we’re back in the main house, we can get the Airbnb earning again — something that used to cover a large portion of our expenses. ❤️We’re close. We just need help making it the rest of the way.❤️
Your support, donations, or shares make a huge difference in buying us some time to reach these other goals so our home can be sustainable again.
With oceans full of love and gratitude, ❤️
— Mishka ❤️

Hello, my name is Mishka, and I’m a single mom to three kids. I’ve lived in our home since 2012 — it’s the only home two of my children have ever known. It’s where we’ve built a life full of memories, love, and community. But today, we’re at risk of losing it, and I’m reaching out for help.
Our road to this point has been difficult. I’ve always worked hard to make ends meet, including renting out a small Airbnb cottage behind our home to help cover the mortgage. But a bad roofing job during COVID caused a cascade of damage which left the main house unlivable. We had to move into the Airbnb unit over two years ago — which meant losing that rental income I relied on.
During this time, my disabilities worsened, and I’ve been limited in my ability to work. I’ve applied for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), but the process is slow and can take many more months. I also applied for the COVID Homeowner’s Assistance Fund, but was denied due to a technicality in how my property is classified (1 unit + ADU instead of 2 units).
Despite everything, I’ve worked hard to keep my kids stable and rooted. The Portland Housing Bureau has been helping us repair the roof, fix ceilings and water damage, and make the main house livable again. We just moved back in — which means we’re almost back on our feet — but foreclosure is still looming. Portland Housing Bureau is still helping and these things take a long time.
I’m trying to raise $45,000 to save our home. This includes mortgage payments (past and upcoming), uncovered repair costs, and essentials like bills and food while I wait for the SSDI hearing and restart Airbnb income. Once SSDI is approved, I will receive backpay — but it won’t arrive in time to prevent foreclosure. It will be so stabilizing though when it does arrive.
This home is literally our foundation. It’s stability, safety, and connection. We love our neighbors and I want to give my kids the security of staying in their neighborhood, with their friends and community. Losing our home now, just as we’re finally moving forward, would be devastating.
If you can donate, any amount helps. And if you can’t, sharing the link is incredibly appreciated.
With love and gratitude,
Mishka
