What is Minou?

Minou is a women-led, non-profit collective with a mission to bring people together through art, co-creation, and community gatherings.

With Minou, we aim to create a sanctuary in Stockholm —a space where people can co-work, co-create, and simply co-exist. We will do this by:

Our story

We had each dreamt of a community space for years, but it wasn’t until the end of 2024 that we realised we shared the same vision: a place filled with creativity and connection, with community at its center.

For us, community means coming together with people who may see the world differently or have varied experiences, yet share a genuine desire to create something meaningful. It’s about sharing meals, music, and art, and letting those moments unfold naturally, shaped by everyone involved. We believe Stockholm needs more spaces like this.

We were also inspired by the concept of a “third place” — a space that is neither home (the first place) nor work or school (the second place), but a neutral, welcoming environment where people can gather, collaborate, and feel a sense of belonging.

Now, we’ve taken the leap and found our future home in the Slakthusområdet area of Stockholm. It’s full of potential but in need of serious love and transformation. That’s why we created this GoFundMe — and where your support can make all the difference.

Some events to look forward to

While we are still working out how our membership system will work (we want to design it with input from the community), what we do know is this: our events will be open, diverse, and affordable.

Everyone will have the chance to participate, whether that means buying a ticket to an event or becoming a member once we launch that option.

Who is behind this project?

Felicia Eliæson is a creative at heart. She loves to paint, illustrate, design, and shape ideas into being. Art has always been her anchor and the fuel that keeps her moving through the world. She draws inspiration from the dreamscape, mythology, and the universal language of symbols, all of which inhabit her work.

In her world, sound, movement, taste, and art walk hand in hand, and the vision of a place where all the senses meet has been brewing inside her for as long as she can remember. After living abroad for many years, where art and creativity flowed more naturally into daily life, she returned to Stockholm with the feeling that something was missing. Creating Minou is her response – a hope and a longing for deeper creative interactions and a meaningful, safe community space.

Geno Samin is a passionate UX designer by trade, and in her free time, she finds joy in shared experiences. Whether it’s curating DJ sets, co-creating events, or filling her home with friends gathered around a home-cooked meal. She also loves movement in all its forms, from martial arts to weekend runs, always cherishing the energy of doing it together with others.

With Minou, all of her passions come alive under one roof: sharing a co-working space with other creatives, creating intimate gatherings with music, food, or movement in focus, inviting people from diverse cultures to connect, share stories, and start lasting friendships.

Katarzyna Danila has worn many hats over the years, but creativity has always been at the heart of everything she has done. She has cooked in restaurants and at events, been part of food activism projects, volunteered, and spent many years working in finance — always finding joy in bringing people together and creating something to share.

She is endlessly curious about people and what connects us.

That curiosity led her to study psychology, and it’s also what inspires her art — detailed, intuitive drawings that grow into little ecosystems, reminding her of how communities work when everyone supports each other. In the future, she plans to focus her work on women and for women, combining creativity, psychology, and community-building in meaningful ways.

Minou is where all of this comes together: a place to make art, host food events, share stories, and help each other create.

Emelie Sanne loves animals, nature, and spending time with people close to her, often exploring the world through conversations about anything and everything. She’s a true life-enjoyer who believes life’s too short to be bored, and her curiosity drives her toward new experiences, adventures, and personal growth. With a strong interest in psychology, society, and culture, in art, but also in world culture, religion, and history, she sees life as one big experiment she wants to try (almost) everything in. Books are another passion, opening doors to new worlds and perspectives. She also loves expressing herself creatively through painting, photography, and writing, and is just beginning her artistic journey.

For her, Minou is a natural space for co-creation and creativity. She hopes to help build a warm, open, and social environment that welcomes creativity in all its forms, and would love to host playful events that encourage openness, imagination, and community.

Anna Sandler gets her source of energy, freedom, and direction from music. When she creates, new ideas find space to unfold, and in meeting others, new possibilities come alive. She carries a deep longing to share music not only as melodies and words, but as a bridge between people.

She dreams of Minou as a second living room, a creative home where thoughts and emotions can grow freely. For her, it is not only about writing, singing, or playing, but about creating a living space where people dare to share their creativity and let it flourish in connection with others.

At Minou, she hopes to deepen her journey while contributing to collaborations and creative gatherings where every voice is heard. She sees music as a force that brings people closer together—a source of inspiration, meaning, and growth. Creating gives her peace and courage, and she hopes to help build a space where creativity can bloom as a natural part of life.
