Help Support Minh Nguyen in His Fight Against Cancer

Minh Nguyen is one of the warmest, most easygoing people you could ever meet. He lights up any room he enters with his big smile, easy laugh, and genuine love for connecting with people. Whether chatting with strangers or cracking jokes with school kids, Minh has always had a gift for making others feel seen and cared for.

Over 20 years ago, Minh owned a small seafood shop called Degaulle Seafood. Later, he put his own ambitions on hold to care for his elderly mother for nearly a decade until her passing. Afterward, he worked at McGehee School, serving meals to children alongside his family. Minh loved it—not just the work, but the chance to brighten kids’ days with his warmth and humor.

More recently, Minh has been helping at a family bakery, where he quickly became a customer favorite. People would come in just to see him—so much so that when he took a day off, folks would immediately ask where he was.

In late 2024, Minh and his wife achieved a dream: they bought a home together. But it wasn’t long after that we began to notice something was off. Minh seemed constantly fatigued. Then, one day, he collapsed while off work. At first, doctors thought it might be a hernia, but more tests revealed devastating news: Minh has Stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to his lymph nodes and, more recently, to his brain. He started radiation therapy just this week.

When we visited Minh a few days ago, we saw just how much pain he’s in—physically and emotionally. He told us he hurts everywhere. He stared blankly into the distance. And when he broke down crying and said he missed everyone, it broke our hearts.

Minh has always put others first. Even now, as he faces one of life’s hardest battles, he hesitates to rest or ask for help—because he’s the sole provider for his family. With mounting medical bills and a new mortgage, the weight on his shoulders is unimaginable.

That’s why we’re starting this fundraiser—for Minh. To ease the financial burden, even just a little. To give him the chance to rest and heal without worrying about how his family will get by.
