Meet Minerva, my 11 year old kitty. She is my soulmate, the silliest little girl that ever did exist and has been in my life for 8 years. I adopted her from the Oakland Animal Shelter and she has been with me every day ever since.
This past week she started getting very ill and we brought her into our local vet. They did an xray, discovered a congenial hernia and recommended euthanasia. I was devastated but also wanted to get a second opinion as that’s a huge decision to make. We brought her to UF’s vet and they confirmed the hernia and possibly cancer in her stomach. There is a lot of fluid in her chest that they are currently draining out right this second. She’s getting blood work to see if she is sceptic (the dr doesn’t think she is but to be sure we’re going by to check). It’s possible she needs hospitalization and they want to do a CT scan on Monday when their radiology team is in. They think there is a possibility she can be saved but we will know more as the night goes one.
We’re going to find out the viability of her future from there but unfortunately the hospitalization and CT is an estimated $6000. I currently have $1000 set aside but I’m making this gofundme on the hope that people will help crowd fund this procedure so I can possibly save my baby. I know there are so many pets in this world that deserve this help so if folks choose mine, I will be endlessly grateful.
