Dear family, friends, and kind-hearted soon-to-be friends,
Baby Zahara was born prematurely at just 27.5 weeks, weighing only 1 lb. 12 oz. She has begun what is expected to be a 12-week stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where she will receive round-the-clock care and specialized treatment to help her grow and develop. Little Zahara is a sassy fighter who is already meeting developmental milestones on her new growth journey.
Mindy and Patrick are first-time parents who adore their tiny daughter, and are bravely facing this incredible challenge while balancing other life trials. Patrick is between jobs, and Mindy needs time to heal from medical complications, while both begin bonding with Zahara and fully participating in her daily care. Medical bills are beginning to accumulate, and they are dealing with car issues along with increased daily costs for fuel and food as they spend long days at the hospital. They need support to navigate this difficult time and ensure they can be there for their little girl.
We are asking for support to help cover:
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Car repairs to ensure they can visit the hospital daily
- Basic living costs (gas, food, and bills) while they are out of work
- Any additional needs that come up as Zahara continues her fight
