Since Milton basketball has made multiple trips to games that were 5-8 hours away, I thought I would ask head coach Joseph Nieves how much a typical trip cost. He told me it can go from $2000 up to $4000 per trip. I know he is frugal, because I saw pictures where the coaches were sleeping on air mattresses while the players were getting the beds. he may have had some contacts to help put his players up for some of those tournaments & games his team traveled 5 to 8 hours to play. Probably some bag meals in those trips as well. That doesn't include the cost of family members when they take the trip to watch their child, sibling, etc., play. When I drove to Lakeland in my truck back in the summer, I probably spent $200 in fuel alone. Add in meals for 3 people up there & back, plus motel & the trip can become pricy. I believe we as a community & fans can help. If the Panthers end up traveling every week, the cost can be burdensome. If you want to help & can give a little, it can help a lot. This funding will benefit both Boys & Girls varsity program. All proceeds will be donated to Milton Basketball program.
