Help Amelia Wilcox Bring Inclusive Fashion to Life in NYC

We are so excited to share that Amelia Wilcox (Millie) has been accepted into the prestigious Parson’s New School of Design in New York City an incredible opportunity that reflects her talent, passion, and dedication. As amazing as this achievement is, it also comes with a very real challenge: the high cost of tuition and living expenses in NYC.

Millie is a disabled student struggling with her own needs and the financial burden that comes along with being disabled. Many things come at a higher cost for those with different access needs such as transportation. On top of college funds she will also need to pay for medications, possible hospital visits, possible wheelchair repairs, and her service dog Taffy’s expenses.

While Millie is actively applying for college grants and scholarships, the financial need is still significant. Schools like Parsons New School of Design and fashion often compared to the “Harvard of fashion and design” offer unmatched opportunities, but they also come with a hefty price tag.

Millie has always been more than just a student of fashion she’s been a changemaker. Since graduating high school, she has built her own path as an entrepreneur, designing clothing with a purpose. Her mission has always been to make fashion accessible for everyone. From adaptive clothing for individuals who use wheelchairs to thoughtfully designed pieces for those with sensory needs, Millie’s work centers around inclusion, dignity, and comfort.

Through her business, Millie has already shown that she is ready to take the fashion industry by storm and she will, whether or not we help. But together, we can ease this season of her life and allow her to focus fully on learning, growing, and continuing her mission.

Her heart for others goes far beyond fashion. Millie has proudly represented New York State for Tourette’s, using her voice and her story to empower and uplift others with disabilities. She is someone who consistently shows up for her community, and now it’s our turn to show up for her.
