Millie was born June 10th, 2024.

At her two week check up, the pediatrician detected a heart murmur that wasn't there at birth or at her two day check up. From there she was sent straight to the cardiologist. After an echo of her heart she was found to have a coarctation of the aorta (a narrowing in the large blood vessel in her heart) and a large VSD. The cardiologist told Molly and Bobby she would need surgery ASAP and sent them to get admitted to the NICU at Forsyth. From there Millie was flown to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte that evening.

Her first surgery on June 26th was a success, but Millie still struggled with a feeding intolerance and side effects from her VSD & ASD (2 holes in her heart). They knew a second surgery was needed, but during this time Millie contracted an infection in her blood. She was immediately treated for this and is still finishing up her antibiotics.

On August 28th, Millie had an open heart surgery to repair her ASD & VSD. She is now in recovery and working on her feedings to get her health where it needs to be in order to head home.

As most of you know Molly is a self employed hairdresser and does not get paid to be out of work. They have been at Levine Children’s Hospital for 70 days now. Things like medical bills & everyday expenses for their other two children should not be a burden in a time like this. Anything is appreciated to help the Howell Family!
