Hi, my name is Cari, and my cat, Milk Tank, was recently diagnosed with autoimmune-mediated hemolytic anemia. My fiancé and I began treatment with hope, but after a follow up visit, it became clear that her red blood cell count was not improving and that she was starting to decline.
Her veterinarian referred us to an emergency hospital in Grand Rapids, where additional tests revealed that Milk may have a serious underlying condition, such as a bone marrow disorder or cancer, preventing her from producing red blood cells. Because the cause is still unknown, she is not yet a candidate for a blood transfusion. The next step is a bone marrow biopsy, but the cost is more than we can manage on our own.
Milk is a sweet, loving, and caring fur baby who brings so much comfort and joy into our lives. We are incredibly lucky to have her as part of our family and are doing everything we can to give her a fighting chance. Any support whether through donations or sharing her story means more than words can express. Thank you for keeping our girl in your hearts.
