Hi, my name is Miley Rhoad.

In 2021, my life changed forever when I was in a car accident that left me with an C5 C6 incomplete spinal cord injury. I spent 4 months in the hospital adjusting to this new reality and learning how to live with my injury.

During rehab, I was introduced to wheelchair rugby, and it truly changed my life. What started as a new activity quickly became a huge part of who I am. Rugby gave me purpose, community, confidence, and a drive to keep pushing forward no matter what challenges I face.

I’m now proud to play on the Carolina Crash wheelchair rugby team, and I’ve recently been invited to compete with an all-women’s wheelchair rugby team at select tournaments which is a huge honor and opportunity that I’m incredibly excited about!

But here’s where I need your help.

Each tournament costs roughly $1,200 to attend which includes travel, lodging, and transportation when I get there. The season kicks off in October, and there are around 10 tournaments lined up. That puts the total cost close to $12,000 an amount that’s difficult to manage on my own.

Every dollar helps and brings me one step closer to doing what I love, representing my team, growing as an athlete, and showing others with spinal cord injuries that we’re capable of incredible things.
