Support Miles Pott Through Pre B-Cell ALL Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia #SmilesForMiles
In early January 2025, 9-year-old Miles started complaining of persistent stomach aches. There were no typical signs of illness—no fever, no vomiting—just ongoing discomfort that wouldn’t go away. Over time, his appetite diminished, his energy levels dropped, and he began losing weight. His parents, Erica and Greg, knew something wasn’t right.
By February, with no improvement, they took Miles to urgent care for an unrelated ankle injury. At the same time, they pushed for answers about his ongoing stomach pain. Initial blood tests ruled out influenza and mono, but his urine showed abnormal amount of high white blood cells, leading to a round of antibiotics for a suspected UTI and ear infection. When the medication didn’t help, they returned to his doctor, who ordered an ultrasound. The results showed something alarming—Miles’ kidneys were massively enlarged. A second round of bloodwork revealed what no parent ever wants to hear: Miles’ white blood cell count was dangerously high. His doctor was referring him to pediatric oncology where further tests confirmed their worst fears—Miles has Pre B-Cell ALL Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Since his diagnosis, Miles has already begun an intense treatment plan. On March 1st, he had surgery to receive his chemotherapy port, followed by his first round of chemotherapy, a bone marrow biopsy, and a lumbar puncture to extract cerebrospinal fluid for testing. On March 8th, he underwent another lumbar puncture, a platelet transfusion, and his second chemotherapy treatment. His third round of chemo is scheduled for March 14th. These treatments are just the beginning—Miles’ fight against leukemia will be an ongoing battle for the next two years.
Instead of spending his days fishing, playing video games with his brother Chase, and caring for his beloved chickens, Miles is enduring hospital stays, transfusions, and tough treatments. His parents are doing everything they can to be by his side, but between medical expenses, travel for treatment, and time away from work, the financial strain is growing.
We are asking for support to help cover their medical costs, travel expenses, and helping Erica and Greg focus on what matters most—getting their little boy healthy again. Every donation, no matter the size, means the world to their family. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Miles and the Pott family in your thoughts and prayers is just as meaningful.
Miles is a fighter, but he shouldn’t have to fight alone. Let’s rally around him and his family during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness, support, and love.
