Support Miles' Fight for Health and Recovery

We are setting up this GoFundMe to raise funds to help us get through this horrible ordeal we are facing. Miles got sick back in March with what he thought was the flu. He has been battling several health issues since then without an official diagnosis. He spent from March 29th to May 5th in the hospital. Doctors have said that he had Crohn's but were unable to confirm the diagnosis with a biopsy and was not treated for Crohn's. Slowly from March to August, despite several medical interventions from a GI and kidney doctor, Miles continued to get worse medically and lose weight.

On August 12th, he was hospitalized again, where he currently is today. As of today, we have been told that it could be Crohn's, an infiltrating mass in his lower quadrant and pelvis, or most recently a frozen abdomen. So basically, his stomach, large intestine, and small intestine are not working as they should. This has caused several complications for him, including having an ileostomy, kidney disease, a stroke last week, increased heart rate, low blood pressure, active bleeding with consistent blood transfusions, and being on a ventilator to help him breathe. The doctors are saying they are doing everything to treat his symptoms but are unable to confirm what or why this is happening to him. The medications do not seem to be helping his abdomen in any way. The last 2 weeks he has been on a ventilator, and we are waiting for a surgery to happen today for a feeding tube. The idea is to get him some nutrition to possibly help his body fight whatever is happening. Miles has been fighting so hard through this all and continues at this moment to fight.

We (mom and dad) have been here every week since this started in March and every day since October 4th when he was intubated and sent to ICU. We will use the money we raise here to help with gas back and forth (it's a 2-hour drive one way), a hotel room if we need to stay overnight for any reason, and anything else we might need since we have not been able to work while he is in ICU. We will also use this money for medical expenses that arise. We feel strongly that he needs us here to help him fight. We are just devastated and heartbroken that Miles (and us) have to be going through this. We also know that everyone he knows will be affected by this as well. Please help if you can, but most importantly, pray to whoever you pray to for him to have this miracle and get better.
