Our Joyful Surprise… and Heartbreaking Discovery
This year, our family grew in the most miraculous way: twin boys, Miles and Micah, joined our lively 5-year-old son, who’s now ruling kindergarten with his boundless energy and mischief.
When we saw two heartbeats—a moment we’ll never forget. But during routine checkups, our OB’s telling the diagnosis: Baby Miles has a serious congenital heart defect. His left heart is underdeveloped, and without urgent surgery, it cannot pump blood effectively after the first week he is born. His twin, Micah, is perfectly healthy—but Miles is fighting for his life before he’s even taken his first breath.
A pediatric fetal cardiologist confirmed the devastating news:
Miles will need two open-heart surgeries—one within days of birth, and a second soon after—to give him a chance at a normal life.
First surgery: Open his tiny chest to reroute blood flow (minimally invasive, but still high-risk).
Second surgery: A complex repair to rebuild his heart’s left side.
Without these procedures, Miles faces lifelong complications—or worse.
Miles’ Brave Fight in the PICU
Just a week ago, he underwent his first open-chest surgery. Today, he lies in the Pediatric ICU, surrounded by tubes, monitors, and wires—his fragile 4lb body hooked to machines that breathe for him, feed him, and keep his heart beating.
Watching our newborn son fight for every breath while his twin brother Micah waits at home and hospital is unimaginable pain.
Our kindergartener asks, “Why is Miles still sick?” We don’t have an answer yet.

Medications, follow-ups, and lifelong cardiology care
Insurance helps—but not enough. We need your help to cover the gap and give Miles the future he deserves.
Please donate today and share Miles’ story. Your kindness could be the heartbeat that keeps hope alive.
With gratitude,
