Support Mildred's In-Home Care During Her Battle

Dear Friends and Family,

I am reaching out to you today with a heavy, yet hopeful heart. As many of you know, my best friend Amanda Greene's mother, Mildred Howell, has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer with metastasis to her liver.

Mildred is one of the most generous, loving people I know, and she has always treated me like one of her own. Now, she is facing the biggest battle of her life. While she is focused on fighting, the financial burden of treatment is becoming overwhelming for the family. Mildred has an income of $1400 per month, with $1153 per month being charged for her in-home health care. Amanda has moved here from Florida to be with Mildred, but Amanda still has to work 5 days a week, which leaves Mildred home alone all day. They are hoping to raise enough money to cover 3 months of in-home health care, to allow Amanda to work, and Mildred to have assistance during the day.

I’m asking for your help to ease this burden. Any amount you can contribute will go directly toward her in-home health care, covering her insurance deductible.

In addition to Mildred's diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, Amanda's daughter Taylor just had her third surgery on her ankle. Taylor broke her ankle just days before her High School graduation, and she required surgery. Taylor came to the mountains with Amanda to be with Mildred during the day to assist with helping Mildred, so Amanda could work. Shortly after they arrived here, Taylor began having problems with her ankle. It was found that Taylor had an infection in her ankle, and required yet another surgery. Taylor was hospitalized for 2 days and then was discharged home with an IV PICC line. Taylor has to do IV antibiotics for the next 4 weeks every 8 hours, and is non-weight-bearing on the non-operative ankle. This greatly limits any assistance Mildred has at home during the day, while Amanda is working. Taylor is currently doing online classes to go into nursing, and helps Mildred as she can. Any donation is not too small, this family could really use some additional support and assistance caring for Mildred during the day. To ease the burden and stress from Amanda, your donation will help financially getting Mildred in home care during the daytime hours.

Thank you so much for taking time to read this.
