My name is Mila, I’m a 21 year old trans woman that is normally completely independent and financially stable. I myself have donated a lot to individuals struggling in the middle east and other trans people in my community. I now need your help.
May 29th I am having bottom surgery. I will be unable to work for 6-12 weeks. Donating to me will give me the time I need to recover so I can get back into the workforce as a healthcare worker for the elderly with dementia.
I have been living paycheck to paycheck recently because I moved to Chicago from Missouri in August for safety and more of an open minded city. Then I started community college to make a better future for myself and start my career in healthcare so I can continue to help care for elderly with dementia. This has caused me to spend almost all of my savings and live paycheck to paycheck.
I got the news that I would be able to get bottom surgery much much sooner than I originally anticipated, which for the political climate is extremely important, but leaves me with little to no time in between classes and work to save up the expenses I will have in recovery.
Bottom surgery will force me to be out of work for 6-12 weeks. This puts me at risk of having to break my apartments lease, rehouse my cat, or potentially go into debt which I am hoping to avoid.
I am someone from your community who has found herself in a tight spot, who never expected to ask for support, so I only feel comfortable if you are donating purely out of wanting to support my transition, and make a huge impact in my life. Please take care of yourself and your community because it is all we have.
Feel free to contact me personally for more info on what this money is going to do for me, or any other way you would like to help me. I am extremely grateful and hopeful for your support.
