Help Mila Manage Type 1 Diabetes and Get a Life-Changing Service Dog!

Hi everyone,

We are reaching out on behalf of our amazing niece, Mila. Mila is a bright, brave, and loving child who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). This past month has been a roller coaster for her parents, Felicia and David, as they learn to manage Mila's condition. Every day, she will face the challenge of managing blood sugar levels, using insulin, and constantly monitoring her health — something no child should have to go through.

Despite everything, Mila continues to smile, laugh, and is so brave. But managing T1D is expensive and overwhelming. Mila needs help covering the costs of essential medical equipment, such as continuous glucose monitors, insulin pump supplies, and other items that aren’t fully covered by insurance.

We are also raising funds to help Mila work toward getting a diabetic alert service dog. These specially trained dogs can detect dangerous changes in blood sugar levels — even before medical devices do — and alert Mila or her caregivers. A service dog would give Mila greater safety, independence, and peace of mind, especially as she grows older and starts doing more on her own.
