My husband Eric and I (Arielle), are starting a GoFundMe for our sweet pup, Miko, who has a spindle cell sarcoma. Miko is a sweet 2.5yo husky/cattle dog mix. He loves to play, run, talk, and cuddle. He is the most special boy and we are so lucky to be his parents.

In September 2025, I noticed a small mass in Miko’s mouth. We went to the vet right away and got it biopsied. We were told that his mass was benign and just a hyperplasia of his gums. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a misdiagnosis.

We had the mass removed in November. Early January, I noticed the mass had grown back and got a referral to an oral surgeon. When the oral surgeon saw his mass she was immediately suspicious it was cancerous. She got him in for a CT the next day that showed tumor growth into his bone structure. We were devastated. Cancer wasn’t even on our radar - we thought it was benign.

We immediately made an appointment with the Surgical Oncology team at CSU. Miko’s team at CSU does feel that surgical intervention is the best avenue for recovery and enjoying potentially years of life.

The cost for this surgery, CTs, blood work is unfortunately more than our pet insurance will cover.
