Support Miko's Fight for Recovery

Donation protected
This is not the version of Miko we know and love. He is the most energetic, vibrant, hyperactive, entertaining, social person we know. But on March 15 he went to the ER with chest pains and 25 days later, he is still hospitalized.

After 4 days of temperatures 100-103 degrees and not leaving the bed due to what we thought was the flu, he began having chest pains and went to the emergency room. He was initially diagnosed with pneumonia in the ER and admitted within the hour. Further testing revealed a pretty serious staph infection, and even further testing revealed deadly clusters of bacteria in his heart, lung, and bone.

The antibiotics scorched his veins and ruined his kidneys. So instead of treating the staph infection aggressively, attention was diverted to his kidney failure. One thing after another from infiltrated IVs to unsuccessful dialysis have cast a dark shadow over his recovery.

Miko is self-employed and isn't earning money while hospitalized. The medications, MRIs, CT scans, heart/lung/abdomen ultrasounds, labs, dialysis, and half dozen specialists are incredibly expensive. And this 4-week hospital stay is expected to last another 4 weeks at minimum, with continued dialysis once he is released from the hospital. We are looking to supplement his lost income, at least / help pay medical fees at best. We appreciate your generosity. No donation is too small.
