To Physics faculty and staff: One of our 5th-year PhD students, Mikheil, is undergoing a prolonged medical issue. His situation is not life threatening at this moment but does require urgent care from a specialist in Houston, TX. He has travelled to Texas for repeated treatments, and extended stays there are required for his care.

This is very costly and he is incurring significant out-of-pocket expenses. Mikheil is not allowed to work a job to earn extra money due to US visa restrictions. UVA sources of assistance are helping but additional assistance is needed.

Please consider donating what you can to help this student get through this challenging time. The hope is that he can be back at full strength later this Fall semester and continue towards his PhD in theoretical particle physics.
