My name is Joanne Heffner. I'm trying to help raise money to support my son and his family.

I like to tell you a little bit about my son Mike. To know Mike is to know a funny guy who is one of the hardest workers I know. Recently that has changed so let me start at the beginning. 23 years ago he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes

Through the years his health declined. Numerous hospitalizations, more medications, injections in his eyes and Recently the hardest part he was hospitalized with kidney failure and had to start dialysis. This has taken a major toll on him physically and mentally.

Mike is a hard worker and due to this he can no longer work his full time job. This has been hard on him as he works hard to support his family so not being able to has him struggling daily.

My daughter in law Donna is by his side at every doctors visits, hospital visits and stays. She does her best to support him in every way. I'm very grateful for all she does for my son. Seeing him like this is so hard as a mother because there is nothing I can do for him besides pray. It tugs at my heart to see my grandchildren see their dad going through all this.

If you could do anything to help take some of the burden off them during this difficult time to help with rent, bills, medical bills and everyday life expenses as he waits to see if he gets approved for disability it would be a blessing.
