*Help Mike Kerney Heal and Come Home Safely**
Mike Kerney has always been the kind of person you can count on. A hard worker, a dependable friend, and someone who never hesitates to help others, Mike has spent his life showing up for the people around him. Now, he’s facing the fight of his life — and he needs our help.
Mike recently went through a sudden and life-threatening medical emergency. He developed severe sepsis, and in order to save his life, doctors had to amputate one of his legs. As if that wasn’t enough, his other leg is currently stabilized with a straight rod while he waits for a future knee replacement. What started as a medical crisis has turned into a long and difficult road to recovery.
Mike has already endured so much, and his journey is far from over. He will need extensive rehabilitation, ongoing medical care, and additional surgeries. Everyday tasks most of us take for granted will now require major adjustments, new equipment, and a home that is safe and accessible for him.
Before Mike can return home, important modifications need to be made, including:
• Wheelchair ramps and entryway accessibility
• Bathroom safety upgrades such as grab bars and shower seating
• Mobility aids and medical equipment
• Transportation to and from frequent medical appointments
• Continued rehabilitation and medical expenses
Because of his condition, Mike is unable to work, and the financial burden of these sudden medical and home modification costs is overwhelming. The focus right now should be on healing — not on how to afford the basics he needs to live safely and regain his independence.
Mike has always been someone who takes care of himself and others. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
If you are able, please consider donating to help ease the financial strain during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward medical care, rehabilitation, and making Mike’s home accessible for his return.
If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this fundraiser with others would mean just as much.
Thank you for being part of Mike’s support team and helping him take the next steps toward recovery.
