Support Mike's Fight Against Guillain-Barré

In late February, our favorite brother and world’s biggest jokester began having tingling and numbness in his hands and feet, little did he know it would start a long journey against Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease that attacks the nervous system. Mike has gone from a healthy, strong man in his 30s to not being able to hold his phone in a matter of weeks. The recovery process is different for everyone and we are still unsure what it will look like for Mike as he continues to battle his way through. His wife, Cailin, has been his rock as she balances caring for their two small children at home (Cici, 2 and Lola, 1) and Mike at the hospital. To say this has been difficult doesn’t cover it. This GoFundMe is to try to help offset some stress as they look at what may be a months, or even years long journey to recovery. Update 3/31/2025: I just want to thank you for all of your work getting the word out about this fundraiser for one of the best families around. Cailin and Mike are SO appreciative and overwhelmed with the support. Today, Mike will begin plasma phoresis to help him continue making progress. He is still very weak, unable to even shift his own weight, but today he is eating and making jokes, something we hope to see continue progressing. We are feeling lucky that we’ve avoided a ventilator for now. While Mike is still incredibly weak and unable to do small tasks like hold his phone - he’s seeing the messages through Cailin and feeling the love in a big way so don’t stop them! Please also continue lifting Cailin up while we enter week 6 of this incredibly difficult health journey and balancing all that comes with an extended hospital stay and her small babies. You guys are amazing!
