Mike Update:
Mike is overwhelmed by all the generosity of the people who have donated so far. He can’t believe it and claims he doesn’t deserve it but I honestly can’t think of a more deserving person.
So far the funds raised are going towards a wound vac- this machine pulls the moisture out of the cut area and helps blood circulate to close the incision site. Mike needs this machine for about 6 weeks and so far we have raised funds for two weeks. Thank you to all who have donated so far. I am truly humbled to know Mike has touched so many lives.
My name is Natalie Wilson and my dad is Mike. Most people know him as a soccer coach, tournament director, absolute laugh riot, and so much more. He loves his wife Linda and family especially his grandkids more than anything. My dad would give you the shirt off his back, loves no matter what, cares deeply for his family, and is the best man I know.
Mike lost two toes in 2017 due to a staph infection. He never lost a step, literally, and went on coaching and being a huge presence in the soccer community and his family's lives. He would joke about his missing toes, calling himself Mikey Ocho; if you know Mike, this is completely on-brand, silly, and making light in a typically dark time.
In 2024, Mike had to say goodbye to all his toes, leaving him with a half foot and a whole stump. Again, Mike made the best of a bad situation, calling himself Mikey Cinco. The man went to work the next day because he was needed for a soccer tournament.
The medical expenses from this round of surgery and aftercare are more than the first round of toe loss. I come to you, fans of Mike Wilson, to ask for help. If you know us Wilsons, we don't ask for anything, pretty much ever. But here I am asking on behalf of my father: Please consider donating to the Mike Wilson medical fund to help keep Mike around for many games, tournaments, and years to come.
