UPDATE 08.09.24 the tree has been removed! Thank you all for the continuous help. I am updating the amount since we got a reconstruction quote back. The whole roof needs to be replaced and the back room needs reconstruction. Just for that we need around $40,000 USD. Plus we are hiring lawyers to make sure the insurances want to pay since they are denying the assistance. Thank you all for your continuous support. May life give it back to you ten times over.

UPDATE 7.23.24 Found a tree company that could remove the tree. The bill was around $4,000 USD but it was paid fully! Thanks to all your donations that part could be paid . Now we have the reconstruction ahead. A reconstruction company has been at the house and assessed the damage. We are waiting to receive the quote. Please continue to donate! Every cent counts and we HIGHLY appreciate it.

UPDATE: 7.17.24 Tree company is unable to remove the tree due to the complexity of the case. We’re still looking for a company that can do the job.

Also, neither Mike’s insurance nor the neighbors insurance are willing to cover for any of this damage. At this point it looks like we will be in charge of paying for the tree removal and the house repairs. Any help you can provide will help us get through this.

 Hello everyone! I am Dany and I created this campaign for Mike V. His house was badly damaged by a tree that fell due to Hurricane Beryl in Dickinson, Tx on July 8th, 2024. Anyone that knows Mike knows that he is a caring, loving man who will always take the shirt off his back to help others. He has 5 cats to take care of (he rescued a pregnant mamma and is still fostering two of the kids until they find their forever home). He’s a very hard working man and doesn’t like to ask for help. This is why I am doing this for him. The money will be used to remove the tree safely and to reconstruct the house where it got damaged. We will be posting constant updates here and social media. If you can help by donating, that’s greatly appreciated, if not, please share this information so that it can reach as many people as possible.

We had someone come over and check the tree. Quote will be sent the following days. The removal of the tree will cause more damage to the house due to the way it is leaning on it.

We also had a restoration person coming over to evaluate the damage. For what he could see (he will need to see after tree is removed) all the back bedroom and all the roof will need to be re done.
