This Go Fund Me campaign is designed to help Mike Regan financially.

Mike Regan is one of those people who has helped so many people without asking for anything in return. Mike is a pillar of the Dutchess County recovery community. He has 39 years of sobriety and worked as a recovery counselor. His generous spirit toward the sober community led him to co-found The Single Purpose Sober Club in Poughkeepsie NY which is the only public space that is a safe place in Dutchess County for those who are sober and in recovery from alcohol and drugs. The Club has enabled people to get sober, remain sober, achieve success in their family life, in their careers and in their sobriety. Additionally, over the years, Mike has provided his resources, time and money to many in need outside the Club.

Two years ago, Mike lost his wife Kathy to cancer. She was his light and he was with her every day. Since she passed, he has struggled financially and in recent weeks has realized that he must sell his home soon. Mike is 79, no longer works and lives on a fixed income. His monthly outflow is greater than his monthly income and has been for some time. Our goal in raising this money is to create a financial bridge for Mike as he plans his next step. We want him enable him to make the next right decision and take the next right action without him being under duress.

We have explored every financial scenario in order to strengthen Mike’s financial and living situation. After exhausting all other options, we have decided that a Go Fund Me campaign was the best path forward. When we first discussed this Go Fund Me plan with Mike, he was absolutely against it and has only begrudgingly accepted it recently.
