Support Mike Miller's Fight for Recovery

Hello to everyone reading, my name is Samantha Miller and I’m writing this on behalf of my dad Mike. On the night of July 16th, our dad Mike Miller was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the hospital. He was unable to breathe or do normal things like sit up-right while he was at home, which was completely abnormal. When he arrived to the hospital, he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure where his heart was only beating at ten percent. Along with being diagnosed with congestive heart failure, his liver and kidneys were also diagnosed as failing.

Back in March, he fell and was taken to the hospital where he was told he had a stroke and was diagnosed with A-Fib. Since then, he has been on a variety of medications, so it is still unclear as to why he went in to congestive heart failure a few weeks ago.

Being that he had multiple organs failing when he arrived at the hospital, the doctors and nurses addressing his emergency medical issues decided to sedate him where they could take care of him in a state where he was comfortable. Last year, our dad moved to Coeur D’Alene, Idaho where he is currently hospitalized.

In the last few days his medical team has slowly been weaning him off of sedation being that he was in a coma for nearly a week and a half, but the future is still extremely unclear of where he is at medically. He is currently in the hospital on a wide variety of medications for his heart, liver, and kidneys along with dialysis being that his kidneys are failing.

As of right now, he is obviously unable to work and pay for bills such as rent, utilities, phone, and more. He has a dog named Mabel, who will also need to be taken care of. Because he is currently living in Idaho and most of his family is located in California, travel costs to and from are also a large expense we are currently navigating as a family. In terms of his medical bills, we have no idea what that may end up costing or when we will know exactly what those bills even are.

We are starting with a goal of $20,000 dollars to help with any upcoming bills, care for his dog, any medical treatments, and travel for family to and from Idaho to help care for our dad. This all has been completely unexpected and a lot to handle emotionally and financially for our dad and all of us as a family. At the young age of 54, we are all extremely hopeful for his recovery and optimistic that his health will get better, despite the long road ahead of us.
