Mike is a longtime friend who's facing serious health and financial challenges. He's been living with a progressive brain disease and now struggles to afford safe housing and daily essentials. We're coming together to help ease his burden and show him he's not alone.

My name is Jim Greenberg, and I'm starting this GoFundMe fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Mike Lowe. Whether you know Mike personally or not, he's someone who's always shown kindness and humility throughout his life—and now, he's the one who needs our help.

Mike has been living with Degenerative Cerebellar Ataxia for over a decade. It's a rare, progressive brain disease that affects his balance, coordination, and motor skills, causing muscle spasms and mobility challenges. A few years ago, Mike also had a heart attack and just recently was diagnosed with early-stage kidney failure. Despite all of this, Mike continues to push forward and stay as independent as possible.

His savings from his long career in the wholesale mortgage business have been depleted, and his health challenges make it difficult for him to work and fully support himself. He's currently living in a high-crime neighborhood in Indianapolis that he can barely afford and doesn't feel safe in.

I've helped Mike when I can, providing some money for food, gas, and daily essentials—but it's not enough. I'm hoping we can come together as friends and community to help him relocate to a safer, more affordable area, cover some basic living costs, and bring a bit of comfort and stability back into his life.
