To our friends, family, and community,

I am writing today on behalf of someone who means a great deal to me—both personally and professionally. Michael “Mike” Kochevar is not just a valued member of our First Pryority Bank family; he is a close friend of nearly 20 years, a leader, a constant source of positivity, and someone who has always shown up for others.

In September of 2024, Mike was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive cancer called Adrenocortical Carcinoma (ACC), a disease that affects roughly 1 in 1,000,000 people each year. True to who he is, Mike chose not to make this diagnosis the center of attention. He continued to work, to encourage others, and to face each day with the same strength and optimism we have all come to know.

On October 30, 2024, Mike underwent a major and life-altering surgery in which his left adrenal gland, kidney, spleen, and surrounding tissue were removed. At the time, we were hopeful that the cancer had been fully eliminated. Sadly, in May of 2025, we learned that the cancer had returned—this time in his liver.

Since then, Mike has made numerous trips to MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the leading cancer treatment facilities in the world. These trips involve extensive testing, ongoing treatment, and the exploration of additional options—all while continuing to fight with determination and grace. As you can imagine, the financial burden associated with travel, medical care, medications, and related expenses has been significant and ongoing.

Mike has never asked for help. That is simply not who he is. But as someone who has worked alongside him for years and considers him family, I am asking on his behalf.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to cover the most recent medical bills coming due to help relieve the financial pressure that comes with this fight. By easing that burden, we can give Mike something incredibly important—the ability to focus fully on his health, his treatment, and his recovery, without the added weight of financial stress.

Mike has the strength. He has the attitude. He has the unwavering support of his family, friends, coworkers, and community. What we can do now is stand beside him in a tangible way and remind him that he does not have to carry this alone.
