Support for Mike & Jeannie as Mike continues to battle brain cancer.

In September of 2022, Mike was involved in an automobile accident due to having his first seizure. He was hospitalized, diagnosed with a brain tumor and after undergoing surgical removal, found to have a Grade 3 Astrocytoma. He endured a year of chemotherapy and a regimen of radiation therapy and was eventually told by his doctors that he was ‘cancer free’. Unfortunately, in September of 2024, on a routine brain scan, Mike was found to have a recurrence of his tumor. He AGAIN underwent brain surgery and this time, his diagnosis was a Glioblastoma… an aggressive and rapidly spreading type of brain cancer.

After months of oral chemotherapy his routine scan in March 2025 showed that his cancer was trending towards progressive disease. He completed two cycles of a new oral chemo medication that caused many side effects, and in June his MRI showed "progressive and aggressive disease”. At this time he was placed on a new IV chemotherapy of which he has currently completed three cycles.

Throughout all of his surgeries and treatments, Mike insisted on working…a true testament to his hard working demeanor and resilient attitude. Unfortunately, despite his positivity and valiant efforts, his physical condition is rapidly declining and he has been unable to work since June. He is requiring more and more help with his activities of daily living as he no longer has function of his left arm and his left leg is weak, making walking difficult and dangerous. He has also started having seizures again. All of this is likely from the tumor growing and causing pressure in his brain.

It has come time that Mike can no longer safely be home alone and we would love to give Jeannie the gift of staying home with Mike for the limited time he has left. In order to do so, we would like to collect money to help cover their monthly expenses while Jeannie is out of work as well. The financial burden is great with any medical condition, but especially one that has been ongoing for years. Mike and Jeannie were hopeful to receive Mike’s social security benefits but have recently found out that they would not receive any money until January of 2026. Therefore, these very important and critical days ahead are not only full of emotional and physical stressors, but also financial stress as well. While we would like to take away ALL the pain and suffering that Mike and Jeannie are feeling at this time, the one thing we CAN help with is the financial component.
