Help Mike Hale Recover, Rebuild, and Visit His Family After Tragic Loss

Hi everyone,

Our dear friend Mike Hale is facing an unimaginable time in his life. Many of you know Mike as a hardworking and kind-hearted gig worker—always delivering smiles with UberEats or working as a dealer at casino-style parties to raise funds for charity. But now, Mike needs our help more than ever.

Over the past few weeks, Mike has been battling serious health issues, including blood clots, pneumonia, and complications that required hospitalization. After days in the hospital and rehabilitation in Far Rockaway, NY, it’s clear that his recovery will take time and rest.

Unfortunately, his two jobs—both requiring walking and standing for long hours—are not something he can return to anytime soon.

To Make Matters Even Worse

As if his health struggles weren’t enough, Mike suffered a heartbreaking loss while in the hospital. On January 8, 2025, Mike’s father, William “Wiggy” Robert Hale, passed away after a brief battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

Wiggy was a true New Yorker, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a man who brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. Despite his dreams of visiting his father in Florida one last time, Mike’s own health challenges made the trip impossible. While Mike was able to speak to his dad on the phone before he passed, the inability to be there in person has been devastating for him.

Now, Mike dreams of visiting his mother in Florida to mourn and heal with his family. Part of this fundraiser will help make that visit possible.

Why Mike Needs Our Help

Mike is a fighter, but even fighters need support. Without his regular income, it’s going to be nearly impossible for him to:

• Cover rent and car payments to keep his life stable.

• Order healthy meals while focusing on recovery at home.

• Pay for medical expenses and other essentials.

• Take the time to heal without the immediate pressure of returning to work.

• Visit his mother in Florida and honor his late father.

We’re setting a goal of $10,000 to help Mike recoup a few months’ worth of living expenses while he heals. This will give him the breathing room he needs to focus on his health and grieving process.
