I’m reaching out on behalf of my stepdad, Mike Hahn. On Friday, he was rushed by air to the ICU due to a sudden and serious deterioration in his heart and lung health.

Right now, he’s facing multiple critical conditions:

* Pulmonary Hypertension – dangerously high pressure in the lungs that’s putting major strain on his heart

* Heart Failure and Diastolic Dysfunction – his heart isn’t pumping or relaxing as it should, leading to fluid buildup and extreme fatigue

* Atrial Fibrillation (Afib) – an irregular heartbeat that raises the risk of clots and stroke

* Cardiomegaly (Enlarged Heart) – a sign his heart is overworked and under severe stress

* Elevated BNP (1000) – this is a marker that shows how hard the heart is working (normal is 100), and while it has gone down slightly, it’s still dangerously high

* Bundle Branch Block – doctors suspect a delay in his heart’s electrical system that’s still being evaluated. More test to come.

* Lung Nodules – stable and unchanged since 2016, but still monitored

These conditions have combined to leave him weak, exhausted, and unable to breathe without support. He’s now in critical care and facing a long road to recovery — one that includes ongoing monitoring, medications, procedures, and possible surgery & rehabilitation.

Why We Need Help

We’re doing everything we can to support him, but the financial strain is growing quickly. Between medical transport, ICU care, tests, and the costs of recovery, it’s more than our family can handle alone. He’s unable to work and the bills are already piling up.
