A Life-Altering Medical Emergency – Please Help if You Can
Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read my story.
I'm reaching out during one of the most difficult and uncertain times in my life. I’ve been diagnosed with a severe infection in my foot that has reached the bone. Due to my diabetes, the condition has escalated quickly and now may require surgery that could result in a partial, or even full foot amputation.
Hearing those words from the doctor was devastating. It’s the kind of news that turns your whole world upside down. What makes this even more overwhelming is that I have no health insurance, no coverage for surgery, no access to aftercare, and certainly no way to afford a prosthetic on my own.
The initial cost of everything I need including the procedure, follow-up care with a podiatrist, and a prosthetic is about $18,000, with the prosthetic alone costing around $10,000. Just the fact that I haven’t been able to work for over a month is enough to hurt my family’s finances and bills are piling up every day not to mention not being able to provide for every day necessities.
I've spent over 30 years working hard as an electrician, a career I’ve been proud of and poured my heart into. I’ve always taken pride in being self-reliant and supporting myself. But now, facing the very real possibility of losing my foot, I may not be able to return to the job I've known my whole life. It's a loss of livelihood, independence, and a way of life, all at once.
This journey has already included two hospital stays, and each day the situation becomes more urgent. I’ve seen firsthand how quickly life can change, and I now carry a much deeper respect for those living with disabilities. It’s humbling to realize how much we take our mobility for granted until it’s threatened.
This fundraiser is my heartfelt plea for help. Anything you can give no matter how small would make a meaningful difference. Even just sharing this page can help more than you know. I truly believe in paying it forward, and I promise that when I’m able, I’ll do everything I can to support others facing life-altering challenges like this.
Thank you for your time, your kindness, and your compassion. Your support means the world to me.
With deep gratitude,
