Over the weekend, long-time beloved residents of Palatine, Mike and Deb Sundberg, experienced a heartbreaking tragedy and loss - their home caught fire, and their forever home was destroyed. The majority of their belongings are gone.
Even more heartbreaking, their beloved dog, Bailey, was trapped inside the home and sadly did not survive. Bailey was such a special part of the Sundberg family, and her loss has made a devastating time even harder.
Mike and Deb are currently staying in a hotel while awaiting insurance to assess the damage and determine their next steps. In the meantime, they've lost all of their belongings - clothing, furniture, essentials, and a lifetime of irreplaceable memories.
If you know Mike and Deb, you know how much they love their community. They're known for their warm hearts, friendly spirits, frequent trips to O'Briens, and most importantly, their generous 4th of July celebrations that we all look forward to every year. Now, we would like to give them the same love and support in return.
We're raising funds to help ease their burden while getting back on their feet. Donations will go towards temporary living costs, replacing everyday essentials, and helping them through this difficult period in their life without the added stress of financial strain.
If you're able to give, even a little, it would mean so much to our family. And if you cannot donate, please consider sharing this to help spread the word.
Let's come together to support two people who have always been there for their family, friends, and community. Thank you all for your support.
