I'm Mike DeAngelis, the DJ/Curator for There Once Was A Note, a 4-hour classic rock radio show that is available on MixCloud.
In order to produce the show, I need a laptop computer powerful enough to create and process multi-media files. I use Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and Audition) and Audacity as my primary tools. The laptop I have used to produce approximately 300 shows is dying. Functions like right-click and double-click no longer work.
I consulted with our local computer tech. My laptop's Dell Service Tag expired 20 years ago (I got it second-hand). He told me that it would cost more to fix this one than to purchase a new one. He highly recommended the Asus brand as one of the most reliable he's seen.
I found a Walmart Black Friday Deal, $499, with a 1 TB internal hard drive and 16 GB of memory. I need both in order to run my show software. I set the amount of GoFundMe to $600 to cover sales tax as well as GoFundMe's service charge so that I would have enough to make the purchase.
