Support Mike Cox's Heart Transplant Recovery

Hello! This is Ricky Cox. As a lot of you know, Mike Cox (my dad) has had a lot of health challenges in recent years, and in late June, he had a heart transplant at the Ohio State University Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. The transplant was a success, and he is working on his recovery as we speak. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for him! Finding a heart that was a perfect match, being cared for by a great medical staff, and having a smooth transplant surgery were all miracles that we are so thankful for! God is good!

Although the transplant process has gone really well, Mike still has a long road ahead to a full recovery. He went into the hospital in mid-May with heart issues, and was there for nearly two months until the transplant was completed. He has not been able to work since he went into the hospital in May, and it will still be quite a while before he is able to return to his job. He does not get paid a salary or any kind of disability benefits while he is recovering.

We are creating this GoFundMe because he has some financial needs that are going to be difficult to meet over the next several months and beyond. Those of you who know Mike, know that he has a heart for helping and praying for others in their times of need. He has a serious need right now, and I am hoping that our family, friends, and colleagues can assist in helping to cover his living expenses during his long recovery. As many of you know, bills don't stop coming just because you are unable to work. He still has a mortgage, groceries, utility bills, physical therapy, doctor appointments, prescriptions, anti-rejection medications (transplant meds that he will have to take for the rest of his life), transportation, plus the transplant surgery bills to try to pay as he goes through this recovery.
