Greetings,

My name is Michael "Mike" Castillo. On June 18, 2024, I was involved in a work-related injury. Due to my injuries, I've sustained a concussion. After visiting an ER, primary physician, and concussion specialist, it was determined I have neurological deficiencies as well as a minor traumatic brain injury (MTBI). I now have to see a cognitive specialist to help with some of the neurological difficulties that I'm currently experiencing.

I am now faced with many challenges and a long road to recovery. I was informed the recovery process can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 4 months and I might even be faced with some permanent damage as a result of the injuries. I filed a workers' comp claim through my employer and was denied workers' compensation benefits. I was also informed by my employer I don't meet the criteria to receive FMLA. This is a tremendous blow to me because I am now faced with the overwhelming out-of-pocket expenses. I've depleted all my financial resources so I can get the quality care that I need so I can fully recover. Now that I've been out over a month, my household bills and out-of-pocket expenses are starting to add up very quickly. This has been an emotional roller-coaster ride for me.

I came here today to ask all my family, friends, Facebook, and strangers to please help by making a donation so I can continue to get the adequate medical treatment that I need.
