Support Mike Anderlik’s Fight Against Cancer

On Friday, January 24, 2025, our lives were turned upside down. My dad, Mike Anderlik, went to the ER after feeling unwell and was quickly admitted to the hospital. Tests revealed something no one ever wants to hear—a mass in his intestine. He was immediately sent for a CT scan, which confirmed the mass, and an MRI the following day revealed something even more concerning: the mass was larger than they initially thought.
This led to an emergency surgery where doctors removed part of his small intestine. However, once they began, they discovered the cancer had already spread beyond what could be surgically removed. Some of it in the blood vessels around the heart, including the vena cava and aorta, are too dangerous to operate on.
Later that morning, our worst fears were confirmed. My dad was diagnosed with cancer that has already begun to spread. While we don't know the stage yet, we will know more this week when he meets with his oncologist. His medical team explained that chemotherapy is the next step, but the prognosis is heartbreaking. While the timeline is uncertain—whether it’s months or years—his surgeon has been clear that this cancer is aggressive and ultimately life-limiting.
This diagnosis has been devastating to our family. My dad is not only a husband and father but also the primary provider for our household. Because of the nature of his treatment and recovery, he is unable to work for the foreseeable future, leaving my mom, Kelly, to shoulder the financial burden alone. Between medical bills, ongoing treatment costs, hospital stays, medications, and daily expenses, the strain is overwhelming.
We are asking for help to ease this financial stress so that my dad can focus on what matters most: fighting this disease and spending as much quality time as possible with his loved ones. The money raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to my mom to cover medical expenses, household bills, and anything else needed during this incredibly difficult time.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. Even if you cannot contribute financially, sharing this campaign and keeping my dad in your thoughts and prayers means the world to us.
Thank you for your generosity, kindness, and support. Our family is forever grateful for any help you can provide as we navigate this challenging journey.
With love and gratitude,
David, John and Brent
(Mike's three sons)
