A lifelong friend, after a 2 plus year battle, has recently lost his wife to stage 4 lung cancer.

This leaves him alone with her 8-year-old grandson to finish raising, and an untold amount of medical bills that continue to roll in daily.

Alex, is everything to his Grandpa Mike. He dotes on him and loves him more than anything in the world.

Mike has since had to rearrange his work schedule and reduce his hours, along with taking a cut in pay, to make sure he is always there for Alex. Completely devoted.

It has been a long, tough, heartbreaking battle to care for the love of his life, while trying to minimize the impact on Alex.

Mike is 62 and while he remains in good health, the burden is great, emotionally, physically and financially.

He would never ask anyone for help, he is a proud self-made man.
