Mikayla, my daughter, was recently diagnosed with mucinous adenocarcinoma, an aggressive form of cancer. This news has turned our world upside down. She underwent surgery to remove an 8-inch cancerous tumor from her abdomen, and one of her ovaries had to be taken out as well. The doctors are still working to determine if the cancer originated in her GI tract or her ovaries, and she needs a PET scan as soon as possible to get answers. On top of all this, Mikayla is facing chemotherapy in the coming weeks.

The financial burden is overwhelming. As a self-employed person, she does not have insurance to help cover these costs. The most urgent need right now is to pay for the PET scan, which must be prepaid before she can move forward with treatment. Without these funds, there could be delays in her care, which is something we are desperate to avoid.
