Hi, I'm Jenny and I'm raising funds for my step daughter Mikayla who has endured 2 medical emergencies in the last week.

Everyone who knows Mikayla, knows she's got the biggest heart and is always willing to give of herself to help others in any way she can.

Well unfortunately Mikayla is now in need of our help. Mikayla works for a small town restaurant that's doesn't provide traditional paid maternity leave, so being the financially responsible person she is, she gathered a savings to get her through the birth of her beautiful baby girl until she would return to work. However no one could have imagined the sudden turn of events that would leave her fighting for her life, not once but twice, both during delivery and the 3 following days after. Mikayla had a postpartum hemorrhage that caused her to crash and her blood pressure to plumet to 50/20 she lost half of the blood in her body. She then had to undergo 3 blood transfusions which led to a much longer stay in the hospital than anticipated but she was ultimately discharged. However 3 days later she was once again admitted to the ER in excruciating pain where she had to undergo emergency surgery where they found a hole in her intestines. They found she had fluid built up inside her from the previous 3 days, so much that it left her Gallbladder so inflamed it had to be removed in order to fix the hole in her intestine. In recovery after surgery she was left with 2 tubes in her stomach and one in her nose going down her throat to keep the excess fluid drained. Mikayla is a fighter and is now once again fighting to recover from the second medical emergency she's endured in the last week. Her care and recovery is now going to be much more extensive and longer than anticipated. Which means significantly more time off work than anticipated.
