Mikayla Bigo is a remarkable 19-year-old who has dedicated herself to caring for others as a CNA at Court Manor Health Care in Ashland, Wisconsin. Since she was 16, Mikayla has worked tirelessly to support her community, and recently completed her EMT program just before receiving a life-changing diagnosis. For some time, Mikayla experienced persistent leg pain, which she and her family believed was related to her involvement in tennis and hockey during high school. However, after further evaluation, Mikayla was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. The news was devastating, but Mikayla’s family and friends rallied around her, offering unwavering support and strength during this difficult time.
Despite the challenges, Mikayla has faced her diagnosis with incredible courage and resilience. She has begun treatments at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN, enduring tough days with chemotherapy but always maintaining her beautiful spirit and smile. Her mother describes her as strong and positive, even on the hardest days. Mikayla’s determination to fight Osteosarcoma inspires everyone around her, and her community continues to stand by her side.
We are raising funds to help Mikayla and her family with mounting medical expenses and the costs of traveling for treatments.
